Quick Start

After installing Bot It, follow these steps to get your store AI-ready.

Step 1: Configure Your Brand Voice (5 minutes)

Navigate to Brand Voice in the Bot It sidebar. Fill in:

1. Brand summary — 1-3 sentences describing your store (this is injected into every AI agent interaction)
2. Brand voice — Your tone and personality guidelines
3. Shipping narrative — Describe your shipping policies in prose
4. Returns narrative — Describe your returns process
5. FAQ — Add common questions and answers about your store

Click Save when done.

Tip

Write your brand summary as if you’re introducing your store to someone who has never heard of it. AI agents use this text to decide whether your products are relevant to a shopper’s query.

Step 2: Write Your First Product Narratives (5 minutes)

Navigate to Products in the sidebar. Choose your best-selling products and add narratives:

• Narrative — A detailed product description written for AI agents
• Fit notes — Sizing and fit guidance
• Materials — Composition, care instructions
• Use cases — When and how to use the product
• Complementary products — What pairs well with this item

Note

Narratives are available on the Free plan with no limits. Write as many as you need.

Step 3: Set Up Collection Narratives (2 minutes)

Navigate to Collections and add narratives and search keywords to your main collections. The search keywords help Bot It match AI agent queries to the right collection context.

Step 4: Connect Your Review Platform (3 minutes, Pro)

If you’re on Pro, navigate to Reviews and connect your review platform:

1. Select your platform (Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Stamped, or Okendo)
2. Enter your API key if required (Judge.me works without one)
3. Click Sync Reviews

Review data (ratings, counts, top quotes) will be automatically injected into MCP responses.

Step 5: Check Your Discovery Files

Your discovery files are already live. Verify them at:

Your store is now discoverable and enriched for AI agents. Check the Analytics dashboard to see AI agent traffic as it starts coming in.
